Baguio has full of believed curses either love life or friendship, I have experienced it. Have you experience it?

Since young I already knew baguio is the summer capital of the philippines due to it's comforting temperature. I mean who among us never experienced Baguio in their whole time especially if you live from the north area. My mother's side is from Nagtrigoan Pinili, Ilocos Norte. I studied my college in Mariano Marcos State University inn Batac City, Divine Word College, Laoag. North part of Luzon is really a big part of my life. Since college I know to myself I want to move and explore Baguio further but since it's my parents decision where I should go. I didn't have my own money yet at that time but since now at my age I already have my resources and I have my own decisions for my life I followed what my heart. I have that vision in myself I would move to Baguio City for good. It was cleaer to me that I'll be managing a bed and breakfast serving guests, cooking for them simplease dishes and making sure they are all comfortable living in a transient house I manage and my dog is with me, that simple but I don't know when it will happen I just know to myself that is where I see myself retiring and getting old. Way back December of 2021 I was asked by different group of friends to come with them and travel to Baguio since the pandemic has been lifted and tourist are welcomed to Baguio City. The first group where only four of us would go they know some discounted place where to stay. Then another group within the condo where my friend and I stayed. The first group seems have no plans to persue since Decemeber normally is then busiest season for work. While the friends within the condo already booked in Moldex at Marcos highway Baguio at that time I was torned to join them since I was financially challenged. My friend was so generous to offer me to pay in staggard for our expenses just so I can go with them we were five (5). The first two is in relationship while the other two were ex's. I was single and no commitements at that time.
The curse of Baguio striked on me and my friend in Igorot Stone Castle. There was this part where my friend wants me to take him a photo but since it was tiring all day for wandering around the tourist places I was tired to take the photo so I declined his request since I also know I don't have th skills in taking good photos. so I said, "Magpakuha ka na lang picture sa jowa mo kasi for sure ayaw mo ng magiging kuha ko". Then he started to show how disappointed he is by not doing his request. I tried to stop him and ask him to alright I'll take a photo but I guest we're all tired for any arguments so we all just went to silence while traveling from places to places after that. No one wants to talk. I was ignored and I ignored them back. I was really a tiring day for all of us. It was a terrible experience for me and my friend we didn't talke for mabe a year or more but we are okay now. We just let our attitudes pass and chill for the time we are not talking with each other.
I know a lot of relationships are challenged when you travel it might show your true selves when you are tired, lost and hungry. That's the test of real friendship and any relationships. Some might broke up with thier relationships some might get stronger. Let's not associate or blame the place it is our own decision to break up or end friendship and not because of Baguio City curse or any places curse.

Why tipping culture in the U.S. went down to 17%?

After the pandemic average tip went crazy high up to 60%

Since inflation all over the world is so high the tip went down to 17%. In addition, technology puts pressure on people since we now have specific amounts on a tablet post in a cashier post.

What does giving a tip mean? If you give a tip to someone such as a waiter in a restaurant, you give them some money to thank them for their services.

Tipping culture has changed a lot after the pandemic time and online is the now big thing

Have you noticed the changes in your typing habit before and after the pandemic?

Is it worth the price for 899 pesos good for 2-3 persons menu in Seafood Island Shopwise Araneta City?

One crazy afternoon we decided to go out and have karaoke and after we searched for a restaurant for late lunch. We checked several buildings in Cubao like Gateway, Alimall, SM Cubao. We checked their menu like Samgyupsal, all you can eat restaurants other more, but we had a hard time, which one to dine and we ended up eating a group meal that includes different dishes.

We tried the Seafood Island branch located at Shopwise in front of SM Cubao. Click here for the location. We went around 1:45 pm until 3:00 pm. We ordered a 2-3 person "Elyu Roadtrip" from their menu. The price was 899 pesos. This set has no drinks so we added bottomless iced tea for 99 pesos each. We are only two people.

We went there around 4pm. To tell you frankly the restaurant at that time had only a few customers, but the people attending to our table took time to set up the table. No water was available at that time. The service was not good. They are not attentive. The food we're cold except for the soup we ordered. The holding time for food is very crucial and it's very disappointing since we waited for about 25-30 minutes for the food. I have also noticed that the table who came after us got their food earlier. I assume since the manager knows those customers. The people we not attentive like refilling the iced tea so we call their attention from time to time. It feels like we are dining in a fast food that no one is assigned per table as there should be at least one assigned to a number of tables.

When I was about to pay our bill. The terminal for the card is located in their working area like a small office and it's uncomfortable getting inside the small area so I need swipe my card.

It was kind of unorganized to see their working office. It was too uncomfortable going to this specific branch. I would probably not go back to this particular restaurant.

P.S. This was just my personal experience and this is not to negatively advertise.

It was a delightful experience at Hunchos in Katipunan, Marikina

Hunchos at Katipunan, Marikina

They are a Tex-Mex restaurant with filipino dishes. They started their facebook page since 2017.

Located at 81 Katipunan St, Marikina, 1800 Metro Manila

They are located inside the premise of Relay Motors.

Kape Talyer and Hunchos share one location.

Their servers are very welcoming and they guided us which are best sellers. We have no much expectations with the restaurant. Prices were reasonable because it can be shared with two persons especially when you are just craving for new foos to taste. I find their menu interesting since it’s a Mexican with filipino twist. They did not disappoint us for the food they served. Serving time was very quick for only 10-15 minutes. The place was relaxing and open air.

The only complaint I have was the wash liquid was diluted with water. That is unsanitary. However their wash area that is very refreshing since it is under the tree. The catch is that since the place was inside the car service establishments you might smell chemicals or hear some noises depending on the service they have on going.

Our total bill was only less than 1,000 pesos for 4 items. We had a great time. I gave them 4.5 stars. We will definitely go back and bring some family and friends.

Easy and Fast Lumpiang Shanghai Rolls Recipe

Ingredients:

Lumpia Sauce

3 Tablespoon sugar
1 Tablespoon Chili Flakes
Pinch of Salt
1/4 Cup of water
1/4 Cup of Vinegar
Add any ketchup, this will add according to your color preference
1 tablespoon of slurry

Slurry:

1 Tablespoon of cornstarch

2 Tablespoons of water

Lumpia Rolls:

150 grams of pork

150 grams of chicken

200 grams shrimp

2-3 Cloves of garlic

1 Large Onion

1 Large Carrots

2 stalks of Celery

2 tablespoons of Oyster sauce

Add any granules like Maggi magic sarap

Add paprika to taste

Add sesame oil (according to your preference)

8 1/2 by 8 1/2 lumpia wrapper

Preparation:

Sauce

Use a saucepan to medium heat put the sugar, water, chili flakes, and ketchup and stir well for -3 minutes. Put the slurry and stir well. Until the desired sauce consistency. Set aside and let it cool.

Lumpia

Put the ground meat in a mixing bowl. Use a  vegetable mixer put the garlic, onion, and celery until they are all in the same size of the meat. Then, grind the shrimps and add to the same mixing bowl. Add the oyster sauce, granules, paprika and sesame oil. Then, mix the ingredients for 3-5 minutes until well blended. Lastly, cut the wrapper in half and do your secret wrapping technique. Then fry in any oil you have at home.

You may also cook using air fryer

Using an air fryer is also a good way to cook lumpia without using oil. In fact, it is a healthier option. I usually set the temperature to 370F and air fry my lumpia for 12 minutes. The cooking time can be extended depending on how well you want your food done.
